What is an oil-less compressor?
An oil-less compressor uses a pump design that does not require lubricating oil inside the compression chamber.
Are oil-less compressors maintenance free?
No. They remove the need for pump-oil changes, but routine checks, draining the receiver where applicable and other model-specific maintenance are still required.
Can an oil-less compressor run air tools?
Yes, where the compressor's delivered CFM, pressure and duty cycle match the tool. Always compare the tool requirement against the compressor specification.
Does a larger receiver give me more CFM?
No. A larger receiver stores more compressed air, but it does not increase the compressor's continuous delivered airflow.
Is oil-less air automatically suitable for breathing or medical use?
No. Compressor pump design alone does not establish the required air quality. The complete system, treatment and applicable requirements must be considered.
