Workshop Hose Management

Air & Oil Hose Reels

Retractable Sealey hose reels for keeping workshop air lines organised, protected and easy to use, with PU and rubber hose options from 6.5 to 30 metres.

Retractable Hose Reels for Workshops & Garages

The current live range contains 11 Sealey air hose reels covering compact PU hose, controlled auto-rewind rubber hose and heavy-duty steel reel options.

Hose lengths range from 6.5 to 30 metres, with 6.5mm, 8mm and 10mm internal diameters available. Choosing the correct bore is important because a hose that is too small for the air demand can restrict flow and reduce pressure at the tool.

The product range below is arranged by hose type and reel family so it is easier to compare similar models together.

Choosing a Reel

How to Choose the Right Air Hose Reel

Hose Bore

Internal diameter affects airflow and pressure drop. Higher-demand air tools generally benefit from a larger bore.

Working Length

Choose enough hose to reach the working area comfortably without adding unnecessary length.

PU or Rubber

PU hose is lightweight and compact, while rubber hose is commonly chosen for heavier workshop duty.

Reel Type

Choose between standard retractable, controlled auto-rewind and steel reel designs to suit the installation and working environment.

Airflow Matters

Do Not Choose on Hose Length Alone

A long hose is useful only if it can still deliver the airflow your tool needs. Small-bore or excessively long hose can create pressure drop, particularly with high-consumption tools.

If you want us to check a hose reel against your compressor and air tool, call 0121 753 3330 with the compressor CFM, tool model and required working reach.
Controlled Rewind

Why Choose a Controlled Auto-Rewind Reel?

The SA82-series reels are designed to return the hose at a controlled speed rather than allowing it to snap back quickly. This can make everyday workshop use more manageable and helps keep the hose stored neatly after use.

Mounting

Plan the Reel Position Before Installation

  • Choose a location that gives useful coverage of the working area
  • Confirm the fixing surface is suitable for the reel and expected operating loads
  • Leave enough clearance for the reel and hose to move freely
  • Position the reel so the hose pulls out in a practical direction
  • Check the inlet connection and upstream airline size
  • Fully isolate and depressurise the air supply before connecting the reel
Workshop Benefits

Keep Air Hoses Tidy & Ready to Use

A retractable reel keeps excess hose off the floor when it is not in use, helping reduce clutter, trip hazards and unnecessary hose damage.

  • Faster access to a usable air line
  • Neater workshop and service-bay layout
  • Reduced risk of hoses being driven over or dragged across the floor
  • Simple storage when the job is finished

FAQs

Air Hose Reel FAQs

Which hose reel has the longest hose?

The SA824 has the longest hose in the current live range at 30 metres.

Which reels have 10mm ID hose?

SA822, SA823, SA824, SA84, SA841 and SA85 use 10mm internal-diameter rubber hose.

What is the difference between 6.5mm, 8mm and 10mm ID hose?

The internal diameter affects how much air the hose can deliver and how much pressure is lost along its length. Higher-flow tools generally need a larger bore.

What is controlled auto-rewind?

It is a return mechanism designed to retract the hose at a controlled speed rather than allowing a rapid uncontrolled return.

Should I choose PU or rubber hose?

PU hose is lightweight and compact. Rubber hose is commonly used for heavier workshop duty and is used on the larger-bore reels in this range.

Can you help me check a reel against my compressor?

Yes. Call 0121 753 3330 with the compressor airflow, air-tool details and required hose length.
