Hose lengths range from 6.5 to 30 metres, with 6.5mm, 8mm and 10mm internal diameters available. Choosing the correct bore is important because a hose that is too small for the air demand can restrict flow and reduce pressure at the tool.

How to Choose the Right Air Hose Reel
Hose Bore
Internal diameter affects airflow and pressure drop. Higher-demand air tools generally benefit from a larger bore.
Working Length
Choose enough hose to reach the working area comfortably without adding unnecessary length.
PU or Rubber
PU hose is lightweight and compact, while rubber hose is commonly chosen for heavier workshop duty.
Reel Type
Choose between standard retractable, controlled auto-rewind and steel reel designs to suit the installation and working environment.
Do Not Choose on Hose Length Alone
A long hose is useful only if it can still deliver the airflow your tool needs. Small-bore or excessively long hose can create pressure drop, particularly with high-consumption tools.

The SA82-series reels are designed to return the hose at a controlled speed rather than allowing it to snap back quickly. This can make everyday workshop use more manageable and helps keep the hose stored neatly after use.
Plan the Reel Position Before Installation
- Choose a location that gives useful coverage of the working area
- Confirm the fixing surface is suitable for the reel and expected operating loads
- Leave enough clearance for the reel and hose to move freely
- Position the reel so the hose pulls out in a practical direction
- Check the inlet connection and upstream airline size
- Fully isolate and depressurise the air supply before connecting the reel
