How to Identify the Correct Filter Element

Blocked Elements Increase Pressure Drop

As filtration media becomes contaminated, resistance to airflow increases. Excessive pressure drop can reduce downstream pressure and cause the compressor to work harder to maintain the required system pressure.

• Maintain the intended filtration performance
• Reduce avoidable restriction through the filter housing
• Protect dryers, valves, tools and downstream machinery
• Help maintain reliable compressed-air quality
• Reduce the risk of unnecessary energy use caused by excessive pressure drop

How Often Should Filter Elements Be Changed?

The existing range guidance uses replacement at least annually as a general minimum starting point. More demanding applications, long running hours, high contamination loading or critical air-quality requirements may need shorter intervals.

Filter Element Replacement Checks

• Fully isolate and depressurise the compressed-air system before opening a filter housing
• Confirm the replacement element reference and filtration grade before fitting
• Inspect seals, O-rings and the inside of the housing
• Clean the housing as required without contaminating the new element
• Refit the bowl or housing correctly and check for leaks after repressurising
• Record the replacement date and next planned service interval
