What Is An Internal Autodrain?
Water and compressor lubricant mixtures are removed from compressed air systems by an automatic drain. A maintenance employee no longer needs to patrol the facility manually dumping liquid from the air system because there is an automatic drain valve. A 2/2 valve that automatically closes in pressurized systems is known as an automatic drain.

How Does An Internal Autodrain Work?
They function by letting the condensate feed into the condensation reservoir of the valves by gravity. Control air pressure is applied to the pneumatic piston to open the normally closed 3/4 ported ball valve when the reservoir’s liquid level rises to the point where the float lifts off the seats.

The Benefit Of Internal Autodrains
Automatic Drains are useful when servicing the filter is difficult due to the location of the filter in the application or when draining would disrupt equipment that is constantly in use. Installation of an Auto-drain is appropriate in situations where large amounts of water can quickly accumulate.
