Choose the Correct Jubilee Clip

Jubilee Clip Installation Guidance

Worm-drive clips provide an adjustable way to secure flexible hose to a compatible hose tail, spigot or connector. They are useful for repairs, maintenance and general workshop assemblies where an adjustable clamp is appropriate.

• Isolate and depressurise the system before working on the hose.
• Inspect the hose, fitting and clip for damage or corrosion.
• Push the hose fully onto the tail before positioning the clip.
• Place the band squarely over the barbed section of the fitting.
• Tighten evenly using the correct screwdriver or nut-driver size.
• Do not overtighten or allow the band to cut into the hose.
• Pressure-test the completed connection and inspect it for leakage.

Jubilee Clips or O Clips?

Jubilee clips are adjustable and can be removed for maintenance, making them practical for many workshop and general-purpose connections. Double-ear O clips create a more compact, permanent crimped connection and require suitable pincers.

The correct choice depends on hose construction, pressure, fitting design and the equipment manufacturer’s requirements. Some higher-pressure assemblies may require crimped ferrules or a professionally swaged connection instead.
