Non Return Valves
Shop compressor non-return valves and inline check valves for preventing reverse airflow, holding receiver pressure and supporting reliable compressor operation.
Find the Correct Non-Return Valve
A compressor NRV allows compressed air to enter the receiver while preventing tank pressure flowing back towards the pump. Match the replacement by connection sizes, thread orientation, bleed/unloader connection and pressure rating.

Compressor NRV or Inline Check Valve?
Compressor / Receiver NRV
Typically fitted between the compressor delivery pipe and receiver. Many compressor NRVs also include a smaller connection for the pressure-switch bleed or unloader line.
- Helps hold receiver pressure when the compressor stops
- Prevents tank air returning towards the pump
- Supports correct pressure-switch unloader operation
- Must match tank, delivery and bleed connections
Inline Check Valve
Installed directly in pipework to allow flow in one direction and prevent reverse flow through the line.
- Useful for compressed-air distribution and system isolation
- Female-to-female options currently available in 3/8" and 1/2"
- Flow direction must be installed correctly
- Connection and pressure rating must suit the system
Common Signs of a Faulty Compressor Non-Return Valve
- Air leaking from the pressure-switch bleed after shutdown
- Receiver pressure dropping when the compressor stops
- Compressor struggling to restart against pressure
- Air flowing back towards the compressor pump
- Valve not sealing because of contamination or wear
- Visible damage, corrosion or leaking connections
Non Return Valve FAQs
What does a non-return valve do on an air compressor?
It allows compressed air into the receiver but prevents stored receiver pressure flowing back towards the compressor pump after the machine stops.
How do I choose the correct replacement?
Match the existing valve by tank connection, delivery-pipe connection, bleed/unloader connection, thread gender, pressure rating and part reference.
Are inline check valves the same as compressor tank NRVs?
They perform the same basic one-way-flow function, but the physical configuration and application can be different. Compressor tank valves commonly include an additional bleed/unloader connection.
Are prices shown ex VAT and inc VAT?
Yes. The product cards display both ex-VAT and VAT-inclusive prices for convenience.
