Nylon Tube for Compressed-Air & Pneumatic Systems
The current range contains five 30 metre nylon tube rolls, arranged by outside diameter from 4mm to 12mm. The outside diameter is the key size used when matching the tube to a pushfit fitting.
Available sizes run from 2.5mm ID / 4mm OD through to 10mm ID / 12mm OD, giving a choice of bore sizes for pneumatic controls, workshop airlines and compatible compressed-air applications.
Always check both the tube ID and OD, the required working pressure, temperature and the fitting specification before ordering.

Pushfit Size Means Tube Outside Diameter
When selecting pneumatic pushfit fittings, the stated metric tube size normally refers to the tube outside diameter rather than its bore.
That means the 8mm pushfit products in this range are intended for the 8mm OD / 6mm ID nylon tube, while a 12mm pushfit is matched to the 12mm OD / 10mm ID tube.

How to Choose the Correct Nylon Tube
Outside Diameter
Match the OD to the metric pushfit size: 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm or 12mm.
Internal Diameter
The bore affects available airflow. Higher-flow applications may need a larger internal diameter.
Pressure & Temperature
Confirm that the tube and every fitting in the circuit are suitable for the actual operating conditions.
Application
Check suitability for the medium, environment, movement and routing required by the installation.
Getting a Reliable Pushfit Connection
- Cut the tube cleanly and square before inserting it into the fitting
- Avoid badly scored, crushed or oval tube ends
- Push the tube fully home into the fitting
- Route without sharp kinks or an excessively tight bend radius
- Keep tube away from excessive heat and sharp edges
- Fully isolate and depressurise the system before alterations or maintenance
Tube Bore Affects Pneumatic Performance
As with any compressed-air line, a smaller internal diameter creates more resistance than a larger bore at the same flow. Long runs and higher air demands make pressure drop more significant.
For pneumatic control circuits the required flow may be relatively small, while air tools and other consuming equipment can require a larger line.
