PCL Standard vs Euro / XF
PCL Standard
PCL Standard is a long-established UK workshop coupling profile and remains common across garages, maintenance departments and older compressed-air installations.

Euro / XF
Euro/XF is a different coupling profile generally associated with a larger nominal bore and higher-flow applications.

- Not automatically interchangeable with PCL Standard
- Use one consistent coupling system wherever practical
Bayonet Tail or Coupler Body?
Bayonet / Plug Tail
The bayonet side plugs into a compatible PCL coupler. Choose male BSP, female BSP or a hose-tail version depending on what the fitting needs to connect to.
Quick-Release Coupler Body
The coupler body receives the compatible PCL plug and allows fast connection and disconnection of air tools, hoses or accessories.
Choosing a Hose-Tail Size
The hose tail should match the internal diameter of the flexible hose. This range currently includes 6mm, 8mm and 10mm hose-tail bayonet fittings.
- 6mm tail — for compatible 6mm internal-diameter flexible hose
- 8mm tail — for compatible 8mm internal-diameter flexible hose
- 10mm tail — for compatible 10mm internal-diameter flexible hose
- Use a suitable hose clip or retention method for the hose and application
- Confirm hose pressure rating before use

How many PCL Type products are currently on this page?
The current Tanair PCL Type category contains eight products: five bayonet/tail fittings and three quick-release coupler bodies.
Are PCL fittings compatible with Euro fittings?
No. PCL Standard and Euro/XF use different coupling profiles and should not be assumed to connect even when the threaded BSP size is the same.
What hose-tail sizes are available?
The current PCL Type range includes hose-tail bayonets for 6mm, 8mm and 10mm flexible hose.
What threaded coupler sizes are available?
The current range includes 1/4" male BSP, 1/4" female BSP and 1/2" male BSP quick-release coupler bodies.
How do I know whether my existing fitting is PCL or Euro?
Compare the plug profile rather than just the BSP thread. If you are unsure, send a clear photo of the existing plug and coupler together with the thread or hose size.
