230 V Single-Phase VSD Compressors

PhaZair 230 VSD Floor-Mounted Compressors

Compare 5.5 kW single-phase variable speed screw compressors delivering 27.5 CFM at 8 bar or 24 CFM at 10 bar.

Choose Between 8 Bar and 10 Bar

Both models use a 5.5 kW motor and 230 V single-phase supply. The correct choice depends on the pressure required by your tools and equipment after allowing for system losses.

8 Bar Model

Provides the higher airflow of 27.5 CFM where the application does not require 10 bar pressure.

10 Bar Model

Provides 24 CFM for equipment that genuinely requires the higher working pressure.

Existing System Integration

Floor-mounted units require a suitable separate receiver, dryer, filtration and distribution system.

PhaZair Floor-Mounted Buying Guide

Model Airflow Pressure Best Suited To
PhaZair-230-5.5-08-VSD 27.5 CFM 8 Bar Applications that need the highest available airflow and can operate correctly at 8 bar
PhaZair-230-5.5-10-VSD 24 CFM 10 Bar Applications that genuinely require higher operating pressure
When should I choose the 8 bar model?

Choose 8 bar where it meets the application requirement after pressure losses. It provides more available airflow than the 10 bar version.

When should I choose the 10 bar model?

Choose 10 bar only where tools, machinery or the production process require it. Running at unnecessary pressure increases energy use and reduces available airflow.

What equipment is not included?

These floor-mounted models do not include an air receiver or refrigerated dryer. Suitable storage, drying, filtration and condensate treatment should be specified separately.

What electrical supply is required?

The 8 bar product specification states a 230 V single-phase, 40 amp supply. The final protective device, cabling, isolator and installation should be confirmed by a qualified electrician.

Is variable speed always more efficient?

Variable speed control is most useful where demand changes during the working day. Actual savings depend on correct sizing, operating hours, pressure and the site's demand profile.

Can this compressor run continuously?

The range is designed for industrial rotary screw operation, but the compressor must still be installed, ventilated, operated and serviced within the manufacturer's stated requirements.

PhaZair Floor-Mounted FAQs

Are these compressors single phase?

Yes. Both models are designed for a 230 V single-phase electrical supply.

What is the difference between the two models?

The 8 bar model delivers 27.5 CFM, while the 10 bar model delivers 24 CFM.

Is an air receiver included?

No. These are floor-mounted compressors intended for connection to a separate receiver and air-treatment system.

Can Compressed Air Systems UK install and service PhaZair compressors?

Yes. Installation, pipework, commissioning, planned servicing, repairs and ongoing technical support are available subject to the equipment and site.

Phazair-230 Single-Phase Rotary Screw Air Compressor

The Phazair-230 rotary screw air compressor is a purpose-built solution for applications requiring reliable compressed air from a 230V single-phase power supply. It delivers industrial rotary screw performance in environments where three-phase electricity is not available, making it ideal for workshops, agricultural settings, and remote installations.

Traditionally, users limited to single-phase power have had to rely on smaller piston compressors, often resulting in reduced air capacity, inconsistent performance, and higher maintenance demands. The Phazair-230 addresses these limitations by combining advanced rotary screw technology with a modern inverter-driven control system, allowing significantly higher output and improved efficiency.

Designed for continuous operation and dependable performance, the Phazair-230 provides a practical, energy-efficient alternative to conventional single-phase compressors, helping to improve productivity while reducing operating costs.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Industrial rotary screw air end designed for continuous-duty operation and long service life
  • 230V single-phase power supply suitable for locations without three-phase electricity
  • Variable-speed inverter drive for precise control, reduced energy consumption, and consistent air delivery
  • 5.5 kW motor with electronic regulation to match site power limitations
  • High performance output up to 27 CFM (780 L/min) at 8 bar and 24 CFM (680 L/min) at 10 bar
  • Energy-efficient operation by producing air in line with demand
  • Optional integrated refrigerated dryer for clean, dry compressed air supply
  • Flexible installation available as floor-mounted or receiver-mounted on a 270-litre air receiver
  • Low noise levels suitable for installation within working environments
  • Reliable industrial performance from a standard single-phase power source

The Phazair-230 is ideal for users who require higher air output and improved efficiency without upgrading their electrical supply. It offers a dependable, modern compressed air solution where traditional single-phase compressors fall short.
