FINI PLUS Variable Speed Compressors

FINI PLUS Variable Speed Series

Industrial variable-speed screw compressors from 22 kW to 75 kW, with 8 and 10 bar options and selected integrated-dryer models for applications with changing compressed-air demand.

Variable-Speed Air for Changing Industrial Demand

The FINI PLUS VS range adjusts compressor output to suit changing air demand, making it a strong option for production sites where consumption rises and falls through the working day.

The current live range covers 22 kW, 37 kW, 55 kW and 75 kW machines, with airflow ranges from approximately 43 CFM up to 431 CFM depending on model and pressure.

22 kW and 37 kW models are available as floor-mounted units or with an integrated refrigerated dryer. The current 55 kW and 75 kW VS models are floor mounted.

The live range is arranged by motor size, with 8 bar and 10 bar options together and dryer versions directly after the equivalent 22 kW and 37 kW floor-mounted models.

Variable speed is most valuable where air demand genuinely varies. If your demand is steady for most of the day, ask us to compare fixed-speed and VSD options before you decide.

Choose the Lowest Pressure That Meets the Application

The current PLUS VS range is offered in 8 bar and 10 bar versions. Higher pressure generally reduces available airflow and can increase energy demand, so the compressor should be selected around the actual pressure required at the point of use.

If the plant only needs around 7–8 bar at the machines, do not automatically select a 10 bar compressor. Allow for system pressure drop, but avoid generating more pressure than the process needs.
Why Variable Speed?

Match Compressor Output to Air Demand

A variable-speed drive changes motor speed as demand changes, reducing the need for a compressor to spend long periods running unloaded at full motor speed.

  • Well suited to sites with fluctuating air demand
  • Can reduce off-load running compared with an oversized fixed-speed compressor
  • Helps maintain a tighter pressure band when correctly sized
  • Can reduce energy use where the duty profile suits VSD operation

The actual saving depends on the site's load profile, operating hours, pressure and existing compressor performance.

Dryer Options

Integrated Refrigerated Dryer Models

22 kW ES VS

The PLUS 2208 ES VS and 2210 ES VS combine variable-speed compression with an integrated refrigerated dryer.

37 kW ES VS

The PLUS 3808 ES VS and 3810 ES VS provide the same integrated-dryer concept at the 37 kW duty point.

For 55 kW and 75 kW systems, a separately sized dryer and filtration package can be selected around the required airflow and air quality.

Correct Sizing

Do Not Size a VSD Compressor from Maximum CFM Alone

A VSD compressor still needs to be sized around the real site profile. Oversizing can reduce the time the machine operates in its most useful modulation range, while undersizing can leave the compressor running at maximum speed continuously.

  • Measure or estimate minimum, average and peak air demand
  • Confirm the true point-of-use pressure requirement
  • Consider production shifts and seasonal changes
  • Allow sensible capacity for leaks and future demand
  • Review whether multiple compressors need sequencing together
Energy Use

Energy Cost Matters More Than Purchase Price

For an industrial compressor running thousands of hours each year, electricity can become the largest lifetime operating cost. That is why compressor selection should consider annual kWh as well as the purchase price.

Compressed Air Systems UK can help compare variable-speed and fixed-speed options against your expected operating hours and demand profile.

Installation & Support

Plan the Complete Compressed-Air System

Before installation, check the electrical supply, ventilation, service clearance, air receiver capacity, dryer and filtration requirements, condensate management and downstream pipework.

Compressed Air Systems UK can assist with selection, installation, pipework, commissioning, planned servicing and ongoing technical support.

FAQs

FINI PLUS Variable Speed FAQs

What motor sizes are available?

The current live PLUS VS range covers 22 kW, 37 kW, 55 kW and 75 kW.

What airflow range is available?

The current models span approximately 43 CFM at the lower end of the 22 kW 10 bar range up to 431 CFM at the top end of the 75 kW 8 bar range.

Are 8 bar and 10 bar models available?

Yes. The current PLUS VS range includes both 8 bar and 10 bar versions.

Which models are available with an integrated dryer?

The current live range includes integrated-dryer ES VS versions at 22 kW and 37 kW.

Is variable speed always more efficient than fixed speed?

No. VSD is particularly useful where air demand varies. A steady base load may suit a correctly sized fixed-speed compressor, so the site duty profile should be considered before choosing.

Can you help compare running costs?

Yes. Provide your operating hours, electricity rate, pressure and demand profile and we can help compare likely running-cost differences between suitable compressor options.
