Medic+Air Standard Air Compressors

Oil-free receiver-mounted piston compressors for dental practices, laboratories and other specialist applications, with 230V and 400V options for different airflow demands.

Two Oil-Free Configurations for Different Air Demands

The Medic+Air Standard range combines oil-free piston compression with internally protected air receivers. The MED320 provides a compact single-compressor package for lower demand, while the MED640 uses a tandem arrangement for higher simultaneous demand.

These models do not include an integrated dryer. Where the application requires controlled moisture levels or a defined compressed-air quality, suitable drying and filtration must be selected as part of the complete installation.

Choosing Between the MED320 and MED640

MED320-50V-3M

A compact 230V single-phase package with one VKM320 compressor pump and a 50 litre receiver. It is the lower-output option in this range and suits installations where the verified simultaneous air demand falls within its capacity.

Receiver50 litres
Supply230V / 50 Hz
Sound72 dB(A)*

MED640-90F-6T

A higher-capacity 400V three-phase tandem package using two oil-free compressor pumps on a 90 litre receiver. It is intended for installations with greater simultaneous air demand or where a twin-pump arrangement is preferred.

Airflow470 L/min / 16.6 CFM
Receiver90 litres

Selection guidance: both models are rated to a maximum pressure of 8 bar / 116 psi. Final selection should be based on usable airflow demand, required working pressure, operating pattern, electrical supply, treatment requirements and future demand—not receiver size or chair count alone. *Manufacturer sound-pressure figures are measured at 7 metres.

Planning the Complete Compressed-Air Installation

Airflow

Add the demand of equipment that may operate at the same time and allow sensible headroom. Avoid sizing from the number of chairs or devices alone.

Pressure

Both models have an 8 bar maximum rating. Confirm the pressure required at the point of use after pipework, filtration and other treatment losses.

Electrical Supply

The MED320 requires 230V single phase and the MED640 requires 400V three phase. Protection, isolation and wiring should be confirmed by a competent electrician.

Receiver Capacity

The 50L and 90L receivers provide local stored air, but receiver volume does not replace correct compressor sizing or determine the usable airflow on its own.

Noise

The standard Medic+Air models are not acoustically enclosed Dr Sonic machines. Installation location, ventilation and separation from occupied areas should therefore be considered.

Duty & Operating Pattern

Check expected running pattern, simultaneous demand and recovery requirements. Repeated operation close to maximum capacity may justify additional headroom.

Installation

Allow suitable ventilation, access for servicing, vibration control, drainage, safe electrical isolation and correctly sized distribution pipework.

Drying & Filtration

These Standard models have no integrated dryer. Specify appropriate moisture control and filtration according to the required air quality at the point of use.

Dental & Medical Applications

Confirm the requirements of the connected equipment and any applicable project, practice, clinical or regulatory specification before choosing the complete system.

Important air-quality point: oil-free compression means compressor lubricating oil is not introduced through the compression process. It does not mean a complete installation automatically satisfies every dental, medical or clinical air-quality requirement. Drying, filtration, receiver condition, pipework, maintenance, commissioning and the point-of-use specification must all be considered together.

Manufacturer dental-unit guidance

Fini describes the MED320 as suitable for approximately 3–4 dental units and the MED640 for approximately 6–8 dental units. Treat those figures as application guidance only: actual simultaneous air consumption, equipment type, pressure requirement, leakage and future expansion should determine the final selection.

Medic+Air Standard FAQs

Are these Medic+Air compressors oil-free?

Yes. Both Standard models use oil-free piston compression, so compressor lubricating oil is not introduced into the compression chamber.

What is the main difference between the MED320 and MED640?

The MED320 is a 230V single-compressor package rated at 8.2 CFM with a 50 litre receiver. The MED640 is a 400V tandem package rated at 16.6 CFM with a 90 litre receiver.

Do these models include an air dryer?

No. The Medic+Air Standard models on this page do not include an integrated dryer. If moisture control is required, suitable drying and filtration should be specified for the complete system.

Is oil-free compressed air automatically suitable for every dental or medical application?

No. Oil-free compression is one part of air quality. The complete installation must be checked against the requirements of the connected equipment and any applicable air-quality specification.

How noisy are the Medic+Air Standard compressors?

The manufacturer lists 72 dB(A) for the MED320 and 76 dB(A) for the MED640, measured at 7 metres. Site acoustics and installation location can affect perceived noise.

Can Compressed Air Systems UK help size the system?

Yes. Tell us the connected equipment, simultaneous air demand, required working pressure, electrical supply and required air quality, and we can help narrow down the appropriate compressor and treatment arrangement.
