Choose an MGF PRIME With Adsorption Drying

MGF currently identifies this adsorption-dryer family as PRIME E. The range combines oil-free piston compression with integrated air treatment designed to deliver very dry compressed air, with current MGF literature referencing a dew point down to -40°C.

The products below include open and acoustically enclosed CS configurations. Some Tanair listings retain older PRIME HDD naming or legacy 230V product codes, so exact flow, pressure and electrical requirements should be confirmed against the selected SKU before order.

Selection note: do not compare headline CFM values unless they are quoted at the same working pressure. MGF has published PRIME E performance on both 5-bar and 8-bar reference bases across current product pages and catalogues.

PRIME E Desiccant Dryer Configurations

Open PRIME EReceiver-mounted oil-free packages with integrated adsorption drying where a lower dew point is required.
CS Silenced PRIME EAcoustically enclosed versions for installations where operating noise and compact packaging are important.
Legacy PRIME HDD ListingsSome existing Tanair SKUs use earlier PRIME HDD naming or 230V 100/50 configurations. These remain listed but should be checked against the exact supplied specification before order.

Performance figures: current MGF sources are not fully consistent about whether individual PRIME E airflow figures are presented at 5 bar or 8 bar. For sizing, use the exact model datasheet and compare free air delivery at the pressure required by the connected equipment.

What to Check Before Ordering

Required Dew PointThis family is intended for applications requiring substantially drier air than the standard membrane-dryer PRIME range. Confirm the required dew point at the actual point of use.
FAD at Working PressureSize from free air delivery at your required working pressure rather than from a headline CFM figure alone.
Electrical SupplyCurrent smaller PRIME E models are 230V, while current 100/50 tandem catalogue models are 400V. Confirm the exact supply for the selected SKU.
Noise & LocationCS versions add an acoustic cabinet. All models still need suitable ventilation, access for service and an appropriate installation environment.
Duty & DemandAllow for simultaneous demand, compressor duty, reserve capacity and any treatment losses when selecting the system.
Complete Air QualityDryer performance is only one part of the complete system. Filtration, pipework, commissioning, maintenance and application-specific requirements also matter.

MGF PRIME With Desiccant Dryer FAQs

What type of dryer is fitted to these PRIME models?

These configurations use an adsorption, commonly called desiccant, dryer. MGF currently refers to the family as PRIME E.

What dew point does the dryer achieve?

Current MGF literature references dried air down to approximately -40°C dew point for the PRIME E adsorption-dryer range. Confirm the exact measuring basis and application requirement before ordering.

Why do some products still say PRIME HDD?

Some existing Tanair product records use earlier MGF naming or legacy configuration codes. The current MGF catalogue uses PRIME E for the adsorption-dryer family.

Can I compare the CFM shown on all PRIME E products directly?

No. MGF has published performance at different reference pressures across product pages and catalogue generations. Compare FAD only at the same working pressure.

Does -40°C dew point mean the complete installation automatically meets a medical or dental standard?

No. Complete air quality depends on the full system, including filtration, pipework, commissioning, maintenance and the specific standard or equipment requirement for the application.

Can Compressed Air Systems UK help select the correct model?

Yes. Send us the connected equipment, simultaneous demand, required pressure, electrical supply, operating pattern and required dew point or air-quality specification.
