O Clips
Shop double-ear O clips from 7–9mm to 20–23mm for secure compressed-air hose, pneumatic and workshop connections.
Shop Double Ear O Clips
Select the clip using the outside diameter of the completed hose-and-tail assembly, not the hose internal diameter alone.

Choose the Correct O Clip Size
Measure the Finished Assembly
Measure the hose outside diameter after it has been pushed fully over the hose tail.
Use the Stated Range
Choose a clip whose minimum and maximum clamping range covers the measured diameter.
Use the Correct Pincers
Compress both ears evenly with suitable O clip or ear-clamp pliers.
Do Not Reuse
Remove used clips by cutting them off and fit a new correctly sized clip.
Double Ear O Clip Installation
Double-ear clips provide a compact, permanent hose connection when correctly matched to the hose, tail and application. Both ears are crimped to distribute clamping force around the hose.
- Isolate and depressurise the compressed-air system before starting work.
- Inspect the hose and hose tail for damage, corrosion or contamination.
- Push the hose fully over the hose tail before measuring.
- Position the clip over the barbed section rather than at the hose edge.
- Crimp both ears evenly using suitable pincers.
- Check that the hose has not been cut, crushed or distorted.
- Pressure-test the completed assembly and inspect it for leaks.
Why Use Double Ear O Clips?
Double-ear clips create a low-profile, tamper-resistant connection and provide more even compression than a single clamping point. They are widely used on compressed-air hose, pneumatic tubing, automotive hose and general workshop assemblies.
The zinc-plated finish helps resist normal workshop corrosion, but the completed assembly must still be suitable for the pressure, temperature, fluid and environment.
O Clip FAQs
How do I choose the correct O clip size?
Measure the outside diameter of the hose after it has been pushed fully over the hose tail, then choose a clip whose stated clamping range covers that finished diameter.
Are double-ear O clips reusable?
No. Once the ears have been crimped, the clip should normally be cut off and replaced rather than reused.
What tool is needed to fit an O clip?
Use suitable O clip pincers or ear-clamp pliers so both ears are compressed evenly and the hose is not damaged.
Should the clip size match the hose internal diameter?
No. O clips are selected using the outside diameter of the completed hose-and-tail assembly, not the hose internal diameter alone.
Why use a double-ear O clip?
The two ears help distribute clamping force more evenly around the hose, creating a compact and secure connection when correctly sized and installed.
