Why Choose a Basemount Petrol Compressor?

Flexible InstallationIdeal where the compressor needs to be integrated into a vehicle, trailer or bespoke compressed-air package.
No Integral ReceiverLets you select a separate receiver capacity and installation arrangement to suit the actual application.
Off-Grid OperationHonda petrol power allows compressed-air generation where a suitable mains electrical supply is unavailable.
Choice of Starting MethodRecoil and electric-start models are available across the range, with a speed-control B38B option.
Mobile Service WorkSuitable for engineered service-vehicle and field-maintenance installations when correctly mounted and ventilated.
15–41 CFM RangeMultiple output levels help match the compressor to different tool and application demands.

Receiver & System Sizing

A basemount compressor does not include an air receiver. Where a receiver is required, its volume, pressure rating, safety equipment, controls and pipework must be correctly matched to the compressor and duty. A larger receiver stores more compressed air but does not increase the compressor's continuous airflow.

For tool sizing: check simultaneous tool demand, working pressure, expected duty cycle and pressure losses through pipework, hoses and air treatment. Use verified delivered-air data where available rather than relying on displacement alone.

Typical Applications

Service VehiclesEngine-driven compressed air integrated into suitable mobile service and repair layouts.
Trailers & Mobile PlantUseful where a separate receiver and controls are incorporated into a purpose-designed package.
AgricultureFarm, yard and field maintenance where mains electricity may not be practical.
ConstructionCompatible pneumatic-tool duties on suitable outdoor or properly managed sites.
Remote MaintenanceCompressed air for field-service tasks away from fixed electrical supplies.
Bespoke SystemsA practical compressor base for engineered packages where receiver size and layout are specified separately.

Petrol Compressor Safety

Petrol engines produce carbon monoxide and other exhaust gases. Engine-driven compressors must not be operated indoors or in inadequately ventilated spaces. The installation must provide safe ventilation, exhaust management, guarding, secure mounting and adequate clearance from combustible materials and hot surfaces.

Petrol Basemount Air Compressor FAQs

How many current Tanair petrol basemount models are there?

The current category contains nine models covering stated outputs from 15 to 41 CFM.

Do basemount compressors include an air receiver?

No. These models are supplied without an integral receiver, so any separate receiver and controls need to be selected for the installation.

What is the difference between recoil and electric start?

Recoil start is manually pull-started. Electric-start models use an electrical starting system for easier starting, particularly useful on larger engines and frequent-use installations.

What does the speed-control B38B model do?

The current B38B-5.5-BM.S/SC listing includes speed control. Check the individual product specification and intended installation before ordering.

Can you help size the receiver and compressor?

Yes. Send us the required airflow, working pressure, tools, duty cycle and intended installation and we can help check the compressor and receiver requirement.

Need Help Choosing a Petrol Basemount Compressor?
