So how does it work? Air pressure regulators reduce the supply of air pressure to a lower outlet pressure and maintain it despite fluctuations in the inlet pressure. Compressed air comes in through the inlet and flows out the the regulator outlet. Outlet pressure is made exactly the same as the set pressure.

How do you adjust an air regulator?

Set your outlet pressure by turning the regulator knob clockwise. To decrease, turn counter – clockwise. You may need to set the regulator slightly higher than the air tool recommendation to compensate for the pressure drop of the air hose or piping.
