Tanair & Nuair Petrol Compressor Ranges

The current petrol range includes both Tanair and Nuair receiver-mounted routes, with Honda engine technology used across relevant models.

Where Petrol Compressors Are Useful

Construction SitesCompressed air where a suitable electrical supply is not available.
AgricultureMaintenance and pneumatic-tool use around farms and remote working areas.
Mobile MaintenanceVehicle-based or field service work requiring a self-contained air source.
Tyre & Inflation WorkMobile inflation and servicing applications where the compressor capacity suits the task.
Remote LocationsWork away from mains electricity where petrol power is practical and safe.
Temporary Site AirShort-term compressed air for suitable tools and tasks on open or properly ventilated sites.

How to Choose the Right Petrol Compressor

AirflowCheck the delivered airflow required by tools that may run at the same time.
PressureConfirm the working pressure required at the tool or process.
Receiver RequirementDecide whether stored air is useful for short peaks, cycling and mobile operation.
Starting MethodCheck whether manual or electric start is required on the selected model.
MobilityConsider weight, wheels, handles, vehicle loading and how often the machine must be moved.
RuntimeConfirm expected daily running pattern and ensure the selected compressor suits the intended duty.

Basemount vs Receiver Mounted

FormatTypical AdvantageWhat to Check
BasemountCompact compressor package for integration into a suitable separate system or installation.Receiver arrangement, controls, hoses/pipework, mounting and vibration isolation.
Receiver MountedProvides local air storage and a self-contained mobile package.Receiver capacity, dimensions, weight, portability and required airflow.
Remember: receiver size affects stored-air capacity and cycling. It does not increase the compressor's continuous delivered airflow.

Important Engine Safety

Never operate a petrol-engine compressor indoors, in an enclosed space or in a poorly ventilated area. Petrol engines produce exhaust gases including carbon monoxide, which can build up rapidly and can be fatal. Operate only in a location with suitable ventilation and follow the engine and compressor manufacturer's safety instructions.

Also keep exhaust and hot engine components away from combustible materials, provide stable positioning, and allow the machine to cool before refuelling or servicing.

Petrol or Electric Compressor?

Choose Petrol When

The work is genuinely mobile or remote and a suitable electrical supply is not available. Petrol gives independence from mains power but brings fuel, exhaust, noise and ventilation considerations.

Choose Electric When

A suitable electrical supply is available and the compressor will operate in a fixed workshop, factory or indoor environment. Electric compressors avoid engine exhaust and are usually better suited to indoor installation.

Petrol Air Compressor FAQs

What are petrol air compressors best for?

They are useful for mobile, site and remote applications where a suitable mains electrical supply is unavailable.

Can I use a petrol compressor indoors?

No. Petrol engines produce carbon monoxide and other exhaust gases. They should not be operated indoors, in enclosed spaces or where ventilation is inadequate.

Does a larger receiver give me more CFM?

No. The receiver stores compressed air but does not increase the compressor's continuous airflow output.

Do you supply Honda-powered compressors?

Yes. The petrol ranges include Honda-powered compressor options. Check the individual product specification for the engine and starting arrangement.

Should I choose Tanair or Nuair?

The right model depends on airflow, pressure, receiver size, mobility and intended duty. Send us your application details and we can help compare suitable options.

Need Help Choosing a Petrol Compressor?

Tell us the tools you need to run, required CFM and pressure, how long the compressor will operate and whether you need a receiver-mounted or basemount package.
